Dewberry is currently searching for a talented, progressive leader for the role of Office Manager in our Prince William County, Virginia office. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership for our established +60 person Site/Civil/Water Resources/Survey Practice in Gainesville, and will continue to grow the practice beyond the clients and markets currently served.
The Office Manager responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Growing the regional private sector business through the leadership and coordination of business development efforts among the Site/Civil Service Line leadership, client managers and key technical and operations management staff.
Evaluating and tracking market trends and economic conditions impacting the Site/Civil and Land Development industries.
Developing specific strategies for increasing the firm's market share and expanding the geographic markets served in coordination with other offices and Service Lines.
Identifying opportunities and developing business plans to grow the related engineering services to serve targeted architects, design/builders and public/quasi-public authorities.
Working with other offices and Dewberry Services Lines in the areas of Water/Wastewater, Water Resources, Transportation, Architecture and Construction Services to support their business and marketing goals, to leverage respective clients for increased fees for Dewberry and to provide internal engineering and surveying services supporting public and private sector projects.
Full operational responsibility for the Business Unit to include staffing, talent management, business performance, marketing and business development plans and execution, logistics; and the procurement process (qualifications statement, proposal, pricing and contracting processes), annual budgeting and periodic reporting.
Working with the Mid-Atlantic Operations Manager and the Site/Civil Service Line leadership to identify and develop new capabilities that would enhance the firm's competitiveness and growthLeveraging the assets and subject matter expertise (SME) from across Dewberry to position and win clients and work.
Increasing Dewberry's visibility through active participation in the state and local building industry organizations and other effective organizations and groups.
Participating in project work through service as Project Principal, Senior Engineer, and/or Project Peer Reviewer.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required, Master's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience desired.
Virginia Professional Engineer (PE) License required. PE, or ability to secure PE, in adjacent states is preferred.
Minimum 20 years of experience and proven track record of successful client development, revenue generation and business development with engineering organizations of similar size and complexity.
Broad experience in the Site/Civil/Land Development industry including engineering design and engineering organization operations management.
Industry leader with the proven ability to anticipate, articulate, and respond to national/regional/local issues that impact the engineering/surveying business and the commercial, residential and retail development industry.
Proven knowledge of and relationships with private sector clients and review and permitting agencies.
Professional network and relationships with developers, homebuilders, construction contractors, specialty subcontractors and suppliers.
Proven experience with planning, design, and construction phase services.
Proven experience with the full spectrum of alternative delivery systems, as well as ability to assess feasibility of alternative delivery prospects.
